Anil Kumar, PhD
Dr. Kumar, Ph.D has a legacy of extensive and top-tier knowledge in reservoir and petroleum engineering, deep water development, and consulting spanning over 40+ years. He holds a Ph.D in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and pioneered the pressure derivative approach, a leading technology platform in transient well interpretation.
Instrumental in the initiation and creation of New Mexico Petroleum Recovery Research Center, Dr. Kumar holds tenure as chairman and professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Dr. Kumar has received the SPE Reservoir Engineering Award, been inducted as a SPE Distinguished Member in 2001 and was elected to the Board of Directors of SPE International. He’s also served as an SPE Distinguished Lecturer and has presented for SPE in four continents over 40 times.
He currently serves on Dallas Geological Society International Group, Society of Independent Earth Scientists and Texas Energy Council. Active in his local church, the United Way and with the Dallas Youth Service Center, Dr. Kumar is invested in his not only his industry, but his community.
